Professor Nadiya Ivanivna Pylypiv graduated with honors from the Faculty of Economics at the Ivano-Frankivsk Institute of Oil and Gas, specializing in “Economics and Organization of the Oil and Gas Industry.” She later completed her postgraduate studies at Ivan Franko Lviv State University. In 1994, she defended her Ph.D. dissertation at the specialized academic council of the Lviv branch of the Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

Since 1994, Professor Pylypiv has been working at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University in various positions: from 1994 as an assistant, from 1997 as an associate professor, from 2009 as a professor in the Department of Accounting and Auditing, and since 2011 as the head of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Economics at the State Higher Educational Institution “Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University.” On June 27, 2023, this department was renamed the Department of Entrepreneurship, Trade, and Applied Economics.

In 2009, she successfully defended her doctoral dissertation on “Methodology and Organization of Cost Accounting for Production and Commercial Activities of Oil and Gas Enterprises” at the specialized academic council of Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University. In April 2011, she was awarded the academic title of professor.

Nadiya Ivanivna actively participated in:

  • 2003: Development of the “Instruction on Planning, Accounting, and Cost Calculation of Cementing Services” for PJSC “Ukrnafta”;
  • 2004: Development of the “Template for the Explanatory Note to the Annual Report on Accounting and Analysis of the Financial and Economic Activities of Structural Units of UMG ‘Prykarpattransgaz’ DC ‘Ukrtransgaz’ NAC ‘Naftogaz of Ukraine’”;
  • 2007: Development of “Methodological Recommendations on Internal Audit of a Gas Transportation Enterprise” for LLC “International Consortium for the Management and Development of Ukraine’s Gas Transmission System”;
  • 2007: Development of a coding system for production cost accounts for analytical accounting at PJSC “Ukrnafta,” as well as implementation of methodological recommendations for reflecting costs in accounting records and formulating a proposal for establishing an internal audit service within PJSC “Ukrnafta.”

In 2007, she proposed for DC “Ukrtransgaz” NAC “Naftogaz of Ukraine” the reflection of production costs for gas transportation in accounting records and their control based on flexible budgets, forecasting for information support of the control system to evaluate the activities of compressor stations. In 2006, she made proposals in the preparation of an explanatory note to the report of the “Bohorodchany Line Production Management of Main Gas Pipelines UMG ‘Prykarpattransgaz’ DC ‘Ukrtransgaz’ NAC ‘Naftogaz of Ukraine’.”

In 2008, Professor Pylypiv proposed solutions for overcoming crisis phenomena in Ukraine’s fuel and energy complex, which were used in the work of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

Since 2011, Professor Pylypiv has been leading research on: “Improvement of Accounting, Analysis, and Audit of Economic Sectors under Market Conditions” (State Registration Number 0111 U003768) and “Development of Theoretical and Applied Aspects of Managing the Socio-Economic Development of the Region” (State Registration Number 0111 U007667).

From 2011 to 2017, Professor Pylypiv was a member of the “Accounting and Auditing” subcommittee of the Scientific-Methodological Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

From 2011 to 2013, she was appointed chairperson of the specialized academic council K 20.051.11 at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, authorized to review and conduct defenses of dissertations for the Ph.D. degree in Economics, specializing in 08.09.00 – Accounting and Auditing (extractive and processing industries, transport, agriculture, hunting, forestry).

On June 7-8, 2012, Professor Pylypiv organized an off-site meeting of the Accounting and Auditing subcommittee of the NMC at the “Karpaty” Tourist Complex (Yaremche), attended by over 50 leading scientists, including five vice-rectors of higher educational institutions training specialists in economics.

On April 5-6, 2017, she participated in the seminar “National Initiatives to Strengthen Education in the Field of Accounting,” held at the World Bank premises and organized by the Center for Financial Reporting Reform (CFRR) of the World Bank with the support of Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University.

At the regional level, Professor Pylypiv actively participated as a member of the working commission in developing the socio-economic development strategy of Broshnivska UTC since May 2018.

Under the leadership of Dr. Nadiya Ivanivna Pylypiv, head of the Department of Entrepreneurship, Trade, and Applied Economics, significant achievements have been made in recent years:

  • In 2015, a license was obtained to train students at the master’s level in the “Applied Economics” program within the specialty 051 “Economics,” allowing for specialist training in this field starting in 2016.
  • In 2018, a license was obtained for bachelor’s training in “Entrepreneurship, Trade, and Exchange Activities” under specialty 076 “Entrepreneurship, Trade, and Exchange Activities.”
  • In 2019, accreditation was completed for the master’s program “Applied Economics,” granting the right to continue educational activities.
  • In 2021, accreditation was completed for the bachelor’s program “Entrepreneurship, Trade, and Exchange Activities,” authorizing student enrollment in this specialty.
  • In 2023, a new master’s program “Entrepreneurship and Trade” under specialty 076 “Entrepreneurship and Trade” was introduced.

She is an active participant in scientific and practical conferences, international scientific forums, and seminars, a member of editorial boards of scientific journals, and a member of public organizations. Professor Pylypiv also takes part in organizing and supporting scientific conferences, including serving as a moderator for the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Entrepreneurship During the War in Ukraine: Challenges and Opportunities,” held on November 20, 2023. The conference took place in a hybrid format, bringing together scientists, practitioners, and experts from Ukrainian universities as well as academic representatives from the USA, France, and Poland.

From July 7, 2024, to August 7, 2024, Professor Pylypiv participated in the international scientific and educational project: “Development of Online Courses for Higher Education Institutions” in Prague, Czech Republic, totaling 180 hours (6 ECTS credits).

In 2025, she received the Launch X: Becoming an Entrepreneur certificate, which certifies that Nadia Pylypiv successfully completed and achieved a passing grade in the course offered by MIT’s online learning initiative.

Professor Pylypiv demonstrates significant scientific interest in various aspects of improving the management system of economic entities. Her research interests include:

  • Investigating ways to enhance the efficiency of business process management across various economic sectors;
  • Studying issues related to providing economic entities with necessary accounting and analytical information for making optimal management decisions;
  • Exploring economic sustainability issues and organizing measures to ensure the resilience of economic entities during economic challenges;
  • Researching socio-economic development strategies for economic entities and local self-government bodies;
  • Investigating the role of motivation and incentives in achieving managerial goals and increasing team efficiency;
  • Assessment of the impact of university autonomy on the development of entrepreneurship and startups, as well as the integration of entrepreneurial initiatives into educational programs.
